The French artist Maud du Jeu is a sculptress and draughtswoman who creates work that capture the spirit of her models. She works primarily in bronze working at with the famous Landowski foundry in France.
In preparation for her sculptures Maud completes numerous sketches, some of which she develops further into fully completed mixed media paintings. With a confident hand she depicts movement and emotion with simple brushstrokes and ink contours.
Her sculptures are both intimate in scale and subject and her ability to manipulate her chosen material, bronze, is quite outstanding. With confidence and skill Maud captures the very essence of her sitter, whether that be a young boy or an embracing couple.
Maud’s career as a successful artist spans over two decades. In this time she has participated in many one woman shows in across Europe and most recently in the USA.
