Separation: apart from the rest; not connected to or attached to; not together, not united, to divide.

My work emerges directly from the idea of separation. In everyone's lifetime there is always a point in time when one is forced to deal with separation in one way or another.

As generous as life can be, giving us many beautiful things, it can also take away certain securities that we are used to…

Separation is a grieving process we all go through; it could be the leaving behind of loved ones, or those who left us behind; the longing for a place we once knew that we can no longer go to, with its familiar people, comforting sounds, and soothing scents.

All this is in a place deep inside my soul, where a window opens up when a vivid memory passes by...sometimes these windows are wide open and clear for me too look through, and other times everything is buried so deep inside and hidden for a while. As the days and years fly by, memories may fade a little, but they will never ever disappear.
